Worldwide Guides permits only professional guides, with training or experience, and licensing where required, to advertise their guide services on the site.   (We do allow tour and travel directors looking for entry level positions to list, but these are not guides that list under specific destinations.) 

However, please do not assume that because a guide lists on the site, that this demonstrates his or her professionalism.  Guides listed provide their own information and we do not, and cannot, verify that it is accurate.   We can cancel a membership if we receive serious complaints or if we learn that a guide misrepresents him/herself, but it cannot be assumed that because a guide is listed they are endorsed or approved.  In addition, the type of training and qualifications required to be a guide vary widely around the world.  It is always a good idea to ask questions and request and check references before hiring a guide.  You may even want to consider calling and speaking with a guide first.

We do request your feedback -- positive or negative -- about your experience with a guide or TD that you found through Worldwide Guides.  If you have any problems with a guide that you found at Worldwide Guides, please email us immediately, as we can cancel a guide's membership and listing if he or she represents him/herself on this site inaccurately or acts unprofessionally.
